David D. Heighington
Barrister and Solicitor
David D. Heighington has been practising law in Alberta for almost twenty-five years. David advises public and private corporations in a wide range of industries regarding mergers and acquisitions, public and private securities offerings, initial public offerings, commercial transactions, and corporate governance matters.

David received his B.A. in Economics from the University of Victoria in 1993 and his LLB. (Hons.) from the University of Durham, England in 1997. He was called to the Bar in Alberta in 2000. Mr. Heighington is a member of the Law Society of Alberta, Canadian Bar Association and Calgary Bar Association.

David read for his law degree at Durham Law School, one of the oldest collegiate law schools in England and a world leader in legal education, with a QS Ranking as one of the top 50 law schools in the world. At Durham, David received an outstanding legal education, which was the impetus for launching Heighington Law in 2000.

Early on, David gained a strong reputation for serving the practical needs of junior public company clients for reasonable fees and excellent service. His winning personality and expertise were soon recognized with appointments to numerous corporate boards in the early years, which quickly exploded into a thriving law practice advising national businesses on all aspects of initial public offerings and stock exchange listings. Serving as a director, officer, and founder of many public and private companies for over 25 years, David has developed excellent knowledge of the financial and legal requirements necessary to being a successful public company. In his law practice he draws upon his many years of experience in business, both in the public and the private sectors.
